Look at those ears! Disproportionate to Morty’s 11-pound body (although, let’s be real, his ears probably account for half of his weight), those big ears can come in handy, making this burrower easier to spot when he buries himself in a pile of blankets or towels. Oh, and with some time you will be able to read this Chihuahua mix’s mood just based on how he moves his ears!
Morty’s foster describes him as a “sweet, cuddly, very loving dog who still has a lot of pep in his step.” Adjusting his energy to those around him, this 12-year-old is playful when he has someone (dog or human) to play with and a couch potato when not much is going on. Squeaky toy play session? Sure! A cuddle on the couch? You bet! Sunbathing in the yard? Count Morty in.
Great in the crate (though you may have to throw a treat in to convince him) and very food motivated, Morty will do his very best to please his people. He does not chew on anything that doesn’t belong to him, and, other than an occasional accident when he gets overly excited, is housebroken. Morty is working on improving his manners on walks— namely, his tendency to bark at passersby. In typical Chi style, Morty is just trying to make up for his lack of size with his big bark! But, with some good, stinky treats and patient training, Morty’s outside manners are sure to improve.
Morty can be a little afraid of sudden movements or unfamiliar noises, but has never shown any sign of aggression. Friendly to visitors and a definite lap dog, Morty only looks for affection. If you think Morty is right for you, fill out an application for this loving guy today!
