Psst! Over here! It’s me: Jayme. As you can see from my photo, I’m a bit bewildered over all the recent events. After 6 years, my previous owner had to give me up due to financial difficulties and now, well…I find myself in the awkward position of needing a new home. It’s a bit much. Give me a moment…

I’m a good guy. Really. I’m housebroken, I can be left out alone without a crate as I don’t chew inappropriately, and I’m good in the car and on leash. I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home except that I do exhibit a little resource guarding when I’m enjoying snuggle time with my human. Frankly, I'd like to be the only dog in my forever home. I'd also prefer no kids -- they make me nervous.

They’re guessing I’m a Poodle/Maltese mix although, honestly, I don’t think they really know. I weigh 16 pounds. Foster Mom said I’m “inquisitive, active, and a fast learner.” And I don’t like to brag, but she also mentioned my beautiful hazel eyes…

I’m really, really hoping for a home with someone who is generous with belly rubs, ear scratches, and yummy treats. And this time I hope it lasts forever. That’s supposed to be the deal, right?

Please check our events page at http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org to find where this dog may be shown this weekend. If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must send an application or email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org prior to a Saturday Adoption Event so we know you plan on attending. If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. 🙂

The breed or breed mix listed for each dog is simply a guess. The profile software program requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near Chicagoland... we are sorry but we cannot accept any out of state applications. We look forward to speaking with you!
