Pit Bull TerrierView Buster Douglas on Petfinder
Buster Douglas here! Yup, I know, that makes you think of the famous boxer. Actually, I’m a seven-year-old, 60-pound, American Pit Bull Terrier mix. And, shhh…I don’t have a fighting bone in my body! I’m housebroken, I don’t bark, and I like to ride in cars and munch on carrots and cantaloupe. Also, I like to learn new tricks (at my own pace). I’ve already got sit, paw, and go potty in my repertoire, all the essentials! You know how boxers tend to have some medical issues after all those fights? Yeah, well, I’ve got a few challenges of my own. I have some kidney issues that require special food/supplements and I also have ataxia, which causes my leg muscles to go a little goofy now and again. What I could really use right now is a soft couch to call my own with a good person to snuggle up near (and give me a belly rub or an ear scratch). I’m open to a canine roommate who is not too lively and playful, as I’m a chill kinda guy. I’ll appreciate a yard to explore and people to keep me company. You’ll see my tail wag when I have people to socialize with, I most enjoy being around kids and meeting new human friends. Speaking of human friends, here what they have to say about me, “Buster Douglas will be someone’s best friend. He loves to sit with you on the couch and just get love. He is a perfect dog!” Please check our events page at http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org to find where this dog may be shown this weekend. If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must send an application or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to a Saturday Adoption Event so we know you plan on attending. If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. 🙂 The breed or breed mix listed for each dog is simply a guess. The profile software program requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near Chicagoland... we are sorry but we cannot accept any out of state applications. We look forward to speaking with you!
